Hey babes! What have you been up to?
Well, I have been running about, keeping myself energised as I believe we all need to get moving to keep our bodies healthy; especially now that I am just into my second trimester, I’ll need the energy to carry through the pregnancy journey. Oh and not forgetting about the skin. Many preggies experience skin problems due to the hormonal changes, so today, please allow me to share with you 4 tips on how to have radiance, naturally glowing, clear and healthy skin while pregnant #pregancywithkew.
Keep your skin hydrated
I have no idea how many times I have told my customers this, but please remember – ‘Hydration over Moisturisation’.
While you are pregnant, hormonal changes may cause your skin to produce more sebum and excessive dead cells; leading to clogged pores, breakouts, dull and rough skin. The solution? Keep it well hydrated.
My favourite would nonetheless be Megaboost Hyaluronic+ Serum, Deluxe Hydra Nutrient Mist and Clear Skin Treatment Essence as they are choke full of hyaluronic acid and snow fungus. Hyaluronic is a water-loving ingredient which binds water and trap moisture, maintaining suppleness and elasticity of our skin. Also, snow fungus is a natural hydration powerhouse with water-retention capabilities supposedly 500 times of its weight in water. Replenish your skin’s hydration to prevent further breakout while delivering radiant, clear and healthy skin.
Prevent stretch marks
Stretch marks! The inevitable when pregnant? True? False? Let’s bust the myth. It is possible to be free from stretch marks while pregnant. I put on 32kg during my first pregnancy but not a trace of stretch mark is on my skin. If I can shun away from it, so can you. Simply exfoliate and nourish your skin with our Coconut Lavender Organic Sugar Body Scrub and Luxuriant Multi-Purpose Dry Oil to prevent the appearance of stretch marks.
Promo Alert: Our Coconut Lavender Organic Sugar Body Scrub is going at 1-for-1, while stocks last!
It contains high levels of concentrated organic and natural ingredients such as Camellia Seed Oil and Macadamia Nut Oil, superb at replenishing the skin’s moisture level and speeding up the cell regeneration process. Not just that, it contains natural lavender aroma, great for relaxing the mind and body. Just what every mom-to-be needs. Mmmmm…. Heavenly!
Quick tip: For best absorption, apply this right after your shower when your skin is soft and moist.
Needless to say, we need to eat well as beautiful skin is from inside out. It’s also essential if you want to have a healthy baby. My favourites are:
Eggs – Our bodies need protein to build and repair tissues, which in turn helps to speed up the cell regeneration process; giving our skin the structural support to have clear, health, #makeupfree skin. I love to have two hard-boiled eggs for breakfast. It is high in protein and packed with many vitamins and minerals. Sprinkle some anchovy powder over them for extra calcium!
Avocados. High in healthy fats to keep our skin supple and smooth, Avocados are also high in vitamin E which helps to protect the skin from oxidative and sun damage. It doesn’t end here. They are also high in vitamin C which is great for brightening our skin to have that natural glow! Pretty impressive huh??
Is it safe for pregnant ladies to do facials?
It is advisable to avoid some treatments such as Microcurrent, Cryo, LED and DPL Facials. However, there are still many treatments preggies can enjoy!
