Organic vs. Clean Beauty – Is There a Difference?
The terms “organic” and “clean beauty” may sound like the same thing (and are often mistakenly used interchangeably), but there are actually distinct differences.
What is clean beauty exactly?
Clean beauty encompasses a range of skin-loving products that may have safe synthetics but are free from toxic ingredients. Often, synthetic versions of certain ingredients are chosen to ensure consistency in efficacy or because it isn’t always possible for the naturally-derived version of an ingredient to be sustainably sourced.
A hallmark of clean beauty brands is transparency. They openly list all ingredients used in their products and typically feature a "free of" list.
What is organic skincare?
Organic skincare products are distinguished by their use of plant-based ingredients grown without the use of artificial or toxic chemicals such as pesticides, GMOs, chemical additives and others. The term “organic” is strictly regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). For a product to be labelled as organic, it must be certified by an accredited agent and adhere to stringent standards.
We are both
It matters to us what we put on our body and what we put in our body. When our skin is our largest organ, protecting the inner workings of our body from the environment, we must take care of it.
At Kew Organics, we prioritise the wellbeing of both your skin and your body. That’s why each ingredient in our formulations have been carefully selected for their organic and naturally-derived properties to harness the full potential of what nature has to offer. We never include fillers in our skincare – only active ingredients, each meticulously selected to help you achieve clear, healthy and makeup-free skin.
Transparency is at the core of our ethos. We openly share our full ingredient lists on our website, ensuring you know precisely what you're feeding your skin.
